We are looking for a motivated IT Infrastructure Intern to join our team on-site in Rhode Island. This is a hands-on, full-time internship (8 hours/day, 5 days/week) where you will support daily IT operations, assist with infrastructure projects, and help maintain our compliance posture across SOC2 and ISO 27001 frameworks. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain real-world experience across helpdesk support, cloud migration, and IT operations in a structured environment.
Logistics
On-site in Rhode Island, Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day – this role cannot be performed remotely
Reliable daily transportation to the office is required
What You’ll Do
Provide Level 2 helpdesk support — troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for end users
Manage and track IT assets including laptops, desktops, peripherals, and servers
Assist with the migration of on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Support networking tasks including basic switch/router configuration, VLAN management, and connectivity troubleshooting
Respond to and document support tickets in the ITSM system
Assist with physical facility management – server room organization, cable management, and access controls
Help maintain documentation and evidence required for SOC2 and ISO 27001 compliance audits
Follow and enforce IT security policies including access management and physical security procedures
What We’re Looking For
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in IT, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)
Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
Some exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) coursework or labs count
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented processes
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize under pressure
Nice to Have
Familiarity with SOC2 or ISO 27001 compliance frameworks
Experience with ITSM/ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Freshdesk, etc.)
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, MDM, or endpoint management
Any IT certifications in progress (CompTIA A+, Network+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, etc.)
